Can I try the assets before buying them?

Yes! Simply click the "Discover" button on any FIGMENT asset to open its Gumroad page where you can find a free sample.
The free sample is for non-commercial use only - and usually limited to a lower resolution and/or fewer styles than the full product - but it should enable you to take the texture/asset out for a spin in your software of choice.

Please not that we are not responsible for our partner's asset shops, or the availability of free samples for their products.

Will I get an invoice for Tax and VAT purposes?

Yes! When you purchase an asset, you can fill in your VAT information at checkout and once the sale is completed, you can generate an invoice from the product download page by clicking on Receipt > View Receipt > Need an invoice? > Generate. Here you can fill in any missing information and save the invoice as a PDF.

You can access the Receipt/Invoice button at any time by logging into your Gumroad account and navigating to your Library which contains all of your previous purchases.

For more information, please visit Gumroad's invoice guide.

Will the animated Caustics work with [render engine]?

To get the most out of the Caustics textures, your software/render engine should be able to do the following:
- Import and use a sequence of JPEG images as an animated texture
- Project the animated texture through a light source
- Let you control the light source's shadow softness while keeping the projected texture sharp

You can watch our step-by-step videos for using the Caustics textures with V-Ray in 3ds max and Corona, Arnold, Redshift and finalRender in 3ds max on our YouTube channel.

If you are uncertain if the Caustics will work with your render engine, then please download the Free Sample on the product's Gumroad page to test it before purchasing.

Will the animated Water displacement maps work with [render engine]?

Yes, they (most likely) will! Your software simply needs to be able to import the images as a sequence and let you use them to displace the surface of an object. This can be achieved by plugging the map into a render specific displacement modifier (V-Ray/Corona in 3ds max), or by piping the map into the displacement channel of the object's material/shader.

Our displacement maps are stored as PNG (16-bit) for mono displacement or EXR (PXR24-bit) for vector displacement. Both formats are supported across all popular 3D applications.

If you are uncertain if the displacement textures will work with your render engine, then please download the Free Sample on the product's Gumroad page to test it before purchasing.

I bought a single asset from a Volume, can I still save money by upgrading to the full collection?

Yes, you can! The cost to upgrade from one, or multiple assets, to their complete Volume is:

[The current price for the complete Volume (including any sale) - minus - the current regular price (disregarding any current sale discounts) for the assets you already own from the Volume] OR [€20 EUR] - whichever is higher (this accounts for sale prices at the time of upgrade). Consider these scenarios:

You own an asset priced at €29, and the current Volume price is €99 (regular), you'll pay €70 to upgrade (€99-€29)

You own an asset priced at €29, and the current Volume price is €69 (sale), you'll pay €40 to upgrade (€69-€29)

You own two assets priced at 2x €29, and the current Volume price is €99 (regular), you'll pay €41 to upgrade (€99-€58)

You own two assets priced at 2x €29, and the current Volume price is €69 (sale), you'll pay €20 to upgrade (€20 is more than €69-€58)

If you would like to upgrade your assets to a complete Volume, please contact support@figment.dk to arrange for the upgrade.

Can the animated textures be converted to other frame rates, or timestretched?

Yes, I have made a free tool (After Effects template) that you can get here.

The template is set up to work with the following assets:
FIGMENT Water Vol 1
FIGMENT Caustics Vol 1
FIGMENT Treeshade Vol 1

There are a few caveats/things to keep in mind when re-timing the textures:
- Retiming the textures will always negatively affect their quality, as any new frames have to be generated from a guesswork of vectors found by the retiming filter, by comparing past, current, and future frames in the sequence.
- It is easier to get good results with low detail/motion textures vs high detail/motion textures. The Water displacement maps, for instance, will tolerate more time stretching than their Caustics counterparts due to the former having (relatively) low frequency detail and motion while the latter has many high frequency details and more motion (the further the caustics are captured from the ocean surface, the more motion they will have).

With those caveats out of the way, it is definitely possible to time stretch many of the textures while getting good results.

Prices do not include applicable taxes/fees. Additional taxes/fees will be listed prior to checkout.
